Best motor oil for your car

Maintaining motor oil standards is one of the best ways to keep your vehicle in proper working order. Motor oil is not just vital to cars but all machines that use a combustion engine, such as trucks, busses, motorcycles, boats, construction equipment, aircraft, and even generators. Maintaining motor oil standards allows each of these machines to operate at peak performance and minimizes the wear and tear on the components within the engine. Here are some things to consider about your motor oil standards.

Many people are interested in changing their own motor oil. It is important, first of all, to know what motor oil to use. The best motor oil for your vehicle should be high in the API oil ratings. Not all motor oil is the same so be sure to conduct research beforehand, to ensure you are using the appropriate oil for your specific make and model. This can drastically effect performance.

There are some precautions to take before changing your oil. First and foremost, do not overfill your oil tank. Check the car’s dipstick to make sure an oil change is necessary. You can check this by inserting and then removing the stick to see how much of it came in contact with the oil. It is important to monitor the oil levels in you vehicle as overfilling can cause the crankshaft to come in contact with the oil, which will then lead to foaming and fluctuations in oil pressure and is not good for the vehicle.
